"Conductor Lorenzo Passerini, on the one hand, promptly accommodates every change and every event on stage, and on the other hand, puts the big performance machine into high gear. The performance of the Savonlinna Opera Festival Orchestra can only be praised: the musicians have the right spirit, and no wonder. [...] I admired the melodious and mournful sound of the cello quartet, and was overwhelmed by the heady torrent of the Te Deum, in which choir and orchestra expressed all their ecstatic power, even the basses were allowed to roar at the top of their voices."
